I teach Kids 6-96 how to stand at easel andn paint,
so Parents, and Kids

in Uptown Mt. Lebanon, Pittsburgh, PA 15228
for a free get-acquainted tour, to see my artwork and
learn how I teach.

Art can be taught in as many different ways as there are
painting styles and painters.  
My  method centers on the intuitive and self-expression,
sometimes called 'open-ended art' and
includes appropriate formal instruction.

The one-hour private classes are structured and enjoyable,
beginning with a 15 minute lesson
where the student learns about color, line, shape,
landscape, portraiture, and
45 minutes in the studio –
all tailored to the student’s learning level.

The student will become knowledgeable, comfortable
and confident working in a studio environment
with non-toxic acrylic paint, paper, brush canvas and panel.

I recommend five lessons.  
As the student becomes more proficient, some paint
two or three small paintings
in one lesson hour.

When they are ready to complete their study,
the student has the opportunity
to have a One Person Show at my studio.  
This option is not mandatory.

The student invites parents, grandparents and friends.
I become the docent if the artist gets stage-fright,
and I also provide the time, space, easels,
and signs to accompany the artwork,
as well as water and pretzel rods.
Parents provide cookies.  
It’s a lot of fun for everyone, and
the artist exhibits pride and accomplishment, which
builds self-esteem !
